Ways to Wellbeing Week

Ways to Wellbeing Week

This week, the national holiday on Monday inspired us to create some further capacity for our Secondary school students to focus on their wellbeing. We called the week 'Ways to Wellbeing Week' as we have used the model of the Five Ways to Wellbeing, which are to connect, take notice, be active, keep learning, and give to others.

By avoiding setting homework and finishing all online lessons 10 minutes early, we have given our students back a little bit of time to get away from their screens, to take a breath of fresh air, and perhaps to engage in meaningful wellbeing activities.

In addition, our Care & Guidance leaders offered optional Ways to Wellbeing activities for their year groups. These activities have been varied and interesting and many of them have taken place away from computer screens. Recommendations of things to do included being active by finding a playground in the local area, learning by trying skills in a cooking competition, and giving time to others by sharing thoughts with Nord Anglia students facing difficulties in Yangon, Myanmar.

Students have engaged well with these activities, and we will continue to find new and better ways to support students' wellbeing at BISB.
