ENASA Basketball Tournament

Seven boys’ teams and six girls’ teams participated in this event. The boys’ team and the girls’ team gave it all they had.

ENASA Basketball Tournament On 8th and 9th December, BISB hosted the annual ENASA Basketball tournament in our new sports facilities.

Seven boys’ teams and six girls’ teams participated in this event. The boys’ team and the girls’ team gave it all they had.

Team BISB put their heart out into every single match, but unfortunately other teams too had one similar aim in mind, “winning”, which led the boys to finish in 5th place and the girls in 4th place. Although we were unable to achieve our primary goal, we were undoubtedly able to achieve our secondary goal, which was having fun. This two-day tournament wasn’t just about basketball, it was much more meaningful and broader than just playing. For some it was about meeting players they’ve became friends with from previous tournaments. For others it was about meeting new people, and creating new friendships and for another few it was coming out of their shell, building confidence, and trying new things through basketball. The atmosphere during the event was just unbelievable; all games were packed with students, parents, friends, siblings and even players from participating teams. The crowd cheered all game long; the chants were so loud you could hear them from a mile away! The basketball itself was just incredible; it is not what you would expect from an average secondary school basketball team and I think I would be speaking out of turn if I were to say that every single person involved in the event including players, coaches, tournament organisers, helpers and everyone else left with a smile on their face. It didn’t matter whether  the team won or lost; didn’t matter the organisers and helpers had worked all day long and were exhausted, didn’t matter the parents had lost their voices, screaming during the games; every single person left with a smile on their face.
