The achievement of students in the International Baccalaureate (IB) examinations is a very good indicator of the quality of education provided here at BISB.

Unlike many other schools in the region, we are non-selective – all of our students are involved in the IB Diploma Programme. It is therefore even more praiseworthy that consistently over the years, out of the maximum 45 points, our average point scores have been between 33 and 35 points – with this year’s graduating IB class achieving an average point score of 34, once again beating the world average of approximately 29 points. 86% of our students achieved that world average or above, which is again fantastic.

A total of 16% of our Year 13 cohort achieved marks of 40 points or higher - more than three times the global average of 5%.

This year’s pass rate is 96%, again well above the world average. This is especially admirable given that many of the students in this year’s graduating class are non-native English speakers, with 45% of our Year 13 cohort gaining the prestigious Bilingual Diploma.

With these excellent results, our students have secured places at some of the world’s top universities, including 2 at Oxford, 1 at Glion, 1 at UCL and 3 at St Andrews to name but a few, with the majority of our graduates gaining entry into their top choice university.

The range of subjects offered at our school prepare our students for university and beyond, but school is about a lot more than getting students to pass exams. We thus offer subjects which deal with current world issues, which both gives a good grounding for those who aim to pursue international careers and seeks to foster a sense of social responsibility among students. We are very proud to be introducing the new Computer Science IB course, for example, at both higher and standard levels.
