How BIS Houston Students Are Benefiting

At BIS Houston, Global Campus is a powerful extension of the classroom. Our students have embraced the opportunity to connect, create, and lead on a global stage:

• Year 5 and Year 6 students recently took part in the MIT Climate Innovation Challenge, designing sustainable urban spaces and sharing their ideas with students across Nord Anglia schools globally.
• Our Secondary students explored the UNICEF Sustainable Development Goals, developing local action plans on clean energy, equity in education, and water sustainability—connecting with peers in Europe and Asia to compare solutions.
• BIS Houston writers earned recognition in the Global Campus Creative Writing Competition, with their stories selected for illustration and inclusion in a professionally produced digital book shared across the Nord Anglia network.

These opportunities have allowed our students to apply their learning in real-world contexts, enhance their communication skills, and see their voice valued on a global platform.

• In Ask the Artist, students submit questions to Juilliard performers and receive exclusive insights into the world of professional arts.
• With MIT, students dive into cutting-edge STEAM challenges, exploring design thinking, innovation, and creative problem-solving.
• UNICEF initiatives offer students a platform to think deeply about their role in achieving the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals—and to take action.
