Congratulations to all our BIS Houston students and special shout out for Ms Gwilt, Mr Molson & Dr Hidden for supporting our BIS Houston 2021 World Scholar's Cup teams!
Hear what our students and parents had to say....
I was just emailing you today because I would like to thank you for the opportunity to compete in the World Scholar’s Cup! It was truly an amazing experience that I’ll never forget. I learned so much from all the activities and it was truly a pleasure to compete in. I also met so many new people from different schools, and it was just incredible. I can’t believe my group even got awarded for being the 2nd best junior, and we qualified for The Global Round! It was just such a heart-warming experience, and I learned so much! So thank you so much for giving me that opportunity. Aashna, Year 8 Scholar.
Thank you so much for organising this and being with the students all day! My daughter and her year group had a fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The whole event sounded like a fun and enriching experience.
With much gratitude, Laura and Fred, parents of Year 7 Scholar.
Thank you so, so much for organizing this event. Both our girls absolutely loved the day and the preparation leading to it. They would definitely be keen to do it as an Enrichment Activity and enter in the regional rounds. Valerie, parent of Scholars in Year 7 & 9.
Thanks so much for having my daughter participate. She had a great time and talked about it all the way home. Connie, parent of Year 8 Scholar.
I just wanted to say thank you to you and the other members of staff who gave up their entire Saturday to escort the children to The World Scholar’s Cup. My daughter thoroughly enjoyed the experience and would be very willing to compete again. Lyn, parent of Year 9 Scholar.
I wanted to thank you for giving your time to World Scholar’s Cup! I am sure it was absolutely exhausting, but it is so very appreciated! I have honestly never heard my daughter so excited. She talked the whole way home about what a fantastic time she had. She loved her team, she loved all the events, and she was so excited that her team qualified for The Global Round. The whole experience was incredible for her.
She was excited to go to school every day that she had practice, and I think it helped her get to know some of her peers a little better. She loved how supportive all of the BIS Houston students were of each other. I think it would be a great Enrichment Activity next year as well. Thank you again for all of the time you devoted to this. It was one of the best academic experiences my daughter has ever had and wouldn’t have been possible without you and your fellow teachers. Jennifer, parent of Year 8 Scholar.
We would really like to thank you for bringing this fantastic opportunity to our son.
There are no words to express how great this event was for all of us. The environment was full of happiness and achievements and the confidence of our BIS Houston students made the event even brighter.
We would love to see WSC as part of the Enrichment Activities and maybe you consider also to host one regional, too.
Thanks a lot for your hard work and your support! Adriana, parent of Year 8 Scholar.
I was so impressed with the BIS Houston students; they were a real credit to the school and themselves with their Bulldog Spirit really shining through.
It was great to see the confidence demonstrated by all the BIS Houston students, amazing collaboration and general all round superb support of each other. It really stood them apart from the other schools.
I would love to see this replicated, as it allows the BIS Houston students to shine.
I will always remember waiting in a corridor with my son and his team for their 2nd debate with the team they would be up against. They were clearly much older than the BIS Houston team; all were at least as tall as me and I felt intimidated, but the boys from BIS Houston wished the other team good luck and destroyed them on the debating floor. Very impressive! Karl, parent of Year 9 Scholar.
Thanks again for helping to make the WSC Houston Regional Round so successful. Your students displayed a great combination of academic skills and spirit and certainly serve as a great reflection of the well-rounded education I'm sure they receive at BIS Houston.
Craig, organiser of the World Scholar’s Cup Regional Round at Ridge Point High School.
