NAE Global Campus Visual Arts Competition Winners Announced!
Global Campus is part of Nord Anglia Education’s (NAE) online platform which provides a learning environment where our students can create content, work with invited experts and debate with others. One of these experiences is our NAE Global Campus Visual Arts Competition.
Global Campus is part of Nord Anglia Education’s (NAE) online platform which provides a learning environment where our students can create content, work with invited experts and debate with others. Our students learn with over 60,000 students and selected experts around the world through access to a wide variety of courses, information and challenges tailored to their age group. The content has also been designed to nurture key transferable skills and help students gain the confidence to take initiative, create content, challenge themselves and lead.
Working with students from around the world in this way helps our students develop a global perspective. Students encounter diverse viewpoints on real world issues. They are encouraged to think critically, challenge prevailing attitudes and presumptions and engage with new ideas to develop creative solutions.
One of these experiences is our NAE Global Campus Visual Arts Competition.
This year's Visual Arts Competition gave students a great opportunity to learn more about the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
Our students were asked to carefully consider their rights as a child and think about which ones are most important to them. The students used a medium of their choice to illustrate their understanding of UNCRC and what it means to them.
With so many fantastic entries, competition was extremely high and we are excited to announce NAE's Global Campus Team have announced.
Congratulations to the following BIS Houston students:
Tanisha (Year 6, winner for age group 8 - 11)
Ysaure (Year 8, winner for Middle School age group 11- 14)
Warren (Year 2, winner for age group EY- 8)
These students have also been officially entered for consideration by Unicef, to potentially be displayed at the UN in New York!

Amelie | Uncover the true world
This art work was inspired by article 2, every child has access to these rights no matter who they are, where they live, their religions... I decided to draw many famous landmarks from around the world to resemble this. I was also inspired with the theme of all the chaos and wars going on in the world right now and compare it to the true world behind it all.
Max | Survive and Thrive
My artwork conveys article 6 and article 31. I choose these two articles because they relate to my piece of art well, showing the true meaning. These article represent the right for every child to survive and develop and the ability to rest relax play and take part in cultural activities. I feel these are important rights because all kids should be able survive and thrive through the life and achieve goals. In my daily life I take this for granted and I wanted to recognize the things we have that others don’t.
Ysaure | The tree of knowledge
My painting represents a child carrying a basket on her head while a tree of knowledge is growing above her. The child shouldn’t be carrying the basket, she should be in school learning. The tree shows what she is dreaming of and the birds show that her dream is flying away into a world of knowledge.
Warren | Goal 4 Quality Education
My poster is about a good school and it has quality education. All kids supposed to learn maths, reading, music, science and computers. They need super teachers to help kidsand teens learn. Kids need playgrounds to have fun and exercise. When kids work together its known as teamwork.
Tanisha | Child Poverty
My visual arts piece represents the end of child poverty. The girl in my piciture is behind bars and she's not caring about herself, she wants to change the world as it says in the pictire I dont want freedome I want to change. She wants to change the world, she wants the world to be a better place for children. When parents arent caring about their children they run away but they dont find a home because they want to change but no one is listening to them, no one is doing anything. But they're still asking people and telling people they want change because they dont want to spend the rest of their life behind bars.
