Music is a universal language that can engage and inspire pupils. During Virtual school we have prepared some special classes to help and engage our students while teaching the topics from our curriculum.
KS2 - Music Virtual Classroom
The Music Virtual Classroom is a way to make online lessons more engaging for KS2 children (Y3-Y6). Each item in the classroom takes the pupil to something related to the lesson: a video to watch, a game website, or even virtual instruments. Lots of fun!
Samba lesson
Music from different countries is a subject we love! It celebrates diversity and enriches children's musical experiences. In this lesson, Year 4 pupils will learn a basic Samba rhythm on the tambourine, but if they don't have a tambourine at home, they can use their body to make sounds and enjoy the music.
KS1 - Body percussion activity
One of the aims of the National British Curriculum for Music is to develop composition abilities. In this lesson, children from Year 1 will have some tips on how to make their own song by creating patterns of clapping and stomping. In the end, by exploring the virtual Music room, they can look for a special YouTube playlist with selected groups that make music using body percussion.

For the little ones from Pre Nursery and Nursery, this activity invites the whole family to make music together. By giving them some materials to explore ocean sounds, such as rice, bottles and pots, children will be able to experiment how sounds can be changed and also sing familiar songs.

Primary Choir is an extracurricular activity that is very popular between KS2 children (from Y3 to Y6). They always perform at some special events inside and outside school, and when we started remote learning, we found ways to continue offering this experience to them. The first lesson for our Primary Virtual Choir was a go through the selected song we chose to work on.
