OUR SOCIAL PURPOSE
PURPOSE THAT DRIVES ACTION
How can our students see their impact in the world? Becoming a global citizen at The British College of Brazil also means connecting with communities beyond our school, where our students can make a difference. Whether they’re leading debates for the Model United Nations, going on an expedition abroad, or fundraising for a charity, their vision starts at school and spreads from there.
Our students’ awareness begins even in its simplest terms among our youngest. They learn about our environmental footprint and the associated impact to our planet. Then, responding to the United Nations' Sustainable Development Goals, they create initiatives, like stopping the use of plastic at BCB, for example.
By the time our students reach the IB Diploma Programme, they participate in ‘CAS’ (Creativity, Activity, Service), which builds their social responsibility, both locally and globally. We weave CAS goals throughout all trips, service, and charity projects, so students can build these real-world skills that make them fit for success.
