What a tremendously busy week this has been!
What a tremendously busy week this has been!
I would like to start by congratulating our Year 13 students who graduated in a formal ceremony last Friday evening. I must share my pride and admiration for the accomplishments of these students for whom the past two years have been a roller-coaster of different learning situations and pressures during COVID times. The ceremony gave chance to really celebrate 74 young adults, spanning 23 nationalities, 12 of whom started their learning journey in our Early Years at The British School Warsaw. I have no doubt that our students are truly global citizens who are equipped with a plethora of the skills which will ensure success in all their endeavours. I would like to thank Her Excellency Anna Clunes, British Ambassador to Poland, for her thought-provoking speech at the ceremony and to the IB team for their seamless organization of this event. We must not forget the essential role of our diligent, caring and resilient teachers who have guided the students through their IBDP journey. I wish each one of our Year 13 students the very best wishes for the next phase of their lives and look forward to hearing about their achievements as they enter some of the best universities in the world.
It is always a pleasure to see parents on campus to celebrate learning and Year 6 students proudly shared their knowledge and skills with them during their IPC exit point yesterday. With a topic as serious as climate control, actions are important and the students assumed the roles of delegates, at an International Conference of countries, that have committed to limiting global temperature rises to 1.5 degrees C. Year 2 parents were also on campus to celebrate Mother’s Day.
It was also a great pleasure to attend the Tea-time Music Recitals yesterday evening where 20 students performed solo on the violin, cello, piano and drums. From Year 2 upwards, the students demonstrated confidence and a great deal of talent. Thank you to the Music department and the visiting music teachers who are supporting and growing this talent within our school. Congratulations to all of our performers – you were amazing!
As June 4th is fast approaching, I would like to remind everyone of our Queen’s Platinum Jubilee celebration. Everyone is invited to come along to our Lim Campus to have a few hours of fun playing on the bouncy castle, taking part in a chess competition led by a world champion player, making a crown, taking part in competitions, eating delicious food or just soak up the atmosphere of a British fair with Her Majesty and the royal corgis!
