U9 and U11 Girls Football
On Friday 8th April it was the turn of the U9 and U11 girls to play their first football fixtures for TBS Hurricanes. The excitement was added to by the fact it was an away match and the team got to travel together.
Both teams played against Monnet International school and greatly enjoyed their matches and showed great resilience to adapt to a new environment. The under 11's scored some great goals and the U9's showed some great defence work. Well done to all who played, and we are looking forward to seeing these teams develop and grow.
U16 Girls Football
On Monday 11th April the U16 girls travelled for an away fixture to play against Monnet International School. It has been fantastic to see how this group of girls has grown from starting off with 5 in the first training session to now having regularly over 15 at each training session. It was a very close game with TBSW hitting the cross bar and posts many time, resulting in a 1-0 defeat. We look forward to playing this team again in Term 3.
U11 Boys Football
On Tuesday 12th April the U11 Boy's hosted Monnet International School at TBSW. This was an extremely close games and some great football played by both sides. The final score was 2:3. Well done to all the boys who played and who have trained all term.
U19 Boys Football
On Wednesday 13th April the U19 Boys played against Monnet International School at TBSW. For many of the players this was their final game for TBSW. The team played very well and were excellent in defence and as the game progressed, they began to shoot more resulting in some excellent goals all over the pitch. TBSW winning 5-0.
Easter Egg cup
With the spring term coming to an end, the U19 Volleyball players took part in another club tournament on Monday 11th April - the Easter Eggcup.
There were four teams (29 students) – the Bunnies, Lambs, Chicks and Unicorns competing in a timed round robin tournament. Competition was close in all matches and many calculations were being made in the last games on what would happen if certain teams won and how the scores could affect the final placings!
We finished with a tie for 1st place and had to go to the total points scored overall to decide the winners.
So by the narrowest of margins Lambs were our winners with Unicorns Second, Bunnies third and Chicks in fourth.
The games had many moments of brilliance and great play, as well as hilarity!
Well done to all the students who took part and for their continued commitment to volleyball.
We are looking forward to more fixtures in term 3 for all our teams and look forward to training resuming on the 9th May. Well done to all players in our squads and development teams for your commitment so far this year.
