On Sunday, 1st December 2024, the STA community came alive with rhythm and energy as we hosted our annual STA Dance Festival. Nearly 100 students from STA Primary and High School, and visiting students from KIS joined in for a full day of dance workshops and masterclasses led by professional dancers and teachers.
Throughout the day, students had the chance to explore a variety of dance styles, including contemporary, hip hop, locking, waacking, house, Latin, Afro dance, and more. The range of genres offered something for everyone, allowing students to broaden their skills and immerse themselves in the joy of movement.
All participants' enthusiasm, focus, and professionalism were truly inspiring. With back-to-back workshops, students spent the day learning new techniques, collaborating with peers, and creatively challenging themselves. The festival culminated in a vibrant showcase featuring routines learned throughout the day, followed by an incredible performance by the Urban Dance Squad, which left the audience in awe.
A Special Masterclass for High School Dancers
In addition to the festival, our High School Dance Company had the privilege of a Hip-Hop Masterclass during their Wednesday ECA session. Guided by professional dancer Mr Rolly, students were introduced to a new style of movement that focused on quality, fluidity, and musicality. This unique experience challenged them to elevate their skills and deepen their connection to the art of dance.
The STA Dance Festival 2024 was an unforgettable celebration of creativity, collaboration, and passion. Thank you to everyone who participated and the professionals who inspired and guided our students. We look forward to seeing even more incredible performances next year!
