On Saturday, 9th November 2024, St Andrews International School Bangkok hosted the VEX Robotics VIQRC Rapid Relay Tournament, welcoming 56 teams from across Thailand. The event was filled with excitement as teams competed in both teamwork challenges, aiming to score high through collaborative robot missions, and skills matches, where they tackled VEX Robotics’ autonomous coding challenge.
This first tournament of the year was a standout success. Expertly organized by Mr Rob and supported by senior student volunteers who took on roles as Head Referee, Scorekeeper, and assistants, 38 students from Years 11 to 13 contributed to the event’s smooth operation. Special thanks go to Mr Rob, Mr Sam, Mr Matt, and Ms Naomi for leading such a memorable tournament.
St Andrews High School teams delivered outstanding performances, with Team 51404B - Galaxy (Yashas, Aiden, Thynith, Jakub, and Ten Ten) advancing to the finals, and Team 51404C - Super Build (Thame, Prin, Thad, Bruce, Saaketh, and Vasin) winning the Middle School division.
Next, we look forward to hosting the VEX Robotics VIQRC Rapid Relay Signature event on 23-24 November, welcoming 100 teams from 13 countries to compete in this world-qualifying tournament held at St Andrews Bangkok.
