We are thrilled to announce that St Andrews International School Bangkok has been selected to host the VEX Signature Event in November 2024. This prestigious international event, organised by the Robotics Education and Competition Foundation (RECF), will welcome 70 teams of young students aged 7 to 15 from the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions.
As a VEX Event Partner, being chosen as the host for this international competition is a major milestone for us at St Andrews. We get to showcase the incredible young talents within our STEAM education while also bringing together students from different schools in a high-spirited environment, one where they can compete and bond with each other. The event will be a platform for young minds to showcase their skills, learn from each other, and vie for a spot at the VEX Robotics World Championship, a tournament comprising 40,000 people from 50 countries around the world.
In a recent email from the RECF, St Andrews Bangkok was confirmed to be an Event Partner in the Asia-Pacific region to host the VEX Signature event in November this year for the VIQRC division. Having previously hosted both the junior VEX IQ tournament and the senior VEX VRC tournament locally, we at St Andrews have established ourselves as a hub for VEX Robotics in the region. Not only is the opportunity to host this Signature event a great honour, but the fact that we’ve been selected is also a testament to our commitment to STEAM education and the growing field of VEX robotics at our school.
With the stakes high and the competition fierce, come 23rd November 2024, St Andrews and downtown Bangkok will be buzzing with excitement as we welcome a multitude of teams from Asia-Pacific and the Middle East. Get ready for what promises to be a thrilling showcase of innovation, teamwork, and dedication in the world of VEX Robotics.
For the last two weeks, two of our VEX teams have been in the US, competing at the VEX World Championships in Dallas.
With the goal of providing meaningful help to the flood victims in the northern regions of Thailand, our entire community at St Andrews Bangkok came together to raise funds and donations for the affected families. In the span of a few short weeks, added to donations of food and clothing, we managed to raise an astounding total of 386,676.50 THB in donation funds. To all students, teachers, parents, and staff who participated in our efforts and contributed to this cause—thank you!
