Enjoy more photos from our safe and well-organised Loy Krathong celebrations! Find out what we discussed during the International School Association of Thailand (ISAT) online Annual General Meeting and the re-elected committee. Finally, as is our Christmas tradition, the last day of Term 1 is a half-day.
Last Friday was our Loy Krathong Festival in school, and it was great to see so many of the school community dressed in Thai costumes. Everyone enjoyed the online assemblies and the activities throughout the morning, with lots of krathongs made to take home and float with our students’ families.
Last Friday, the International School Association of Thailand (ISAT) held its Annual General meeting online. ISAT is an organisation that represents the interests of international schools to the government and other related parties. It now has 176 international schools across Thailand as member schools, and at this meeting, over 160 members joined. This meeting was particularly important as every two years, the ISAT executive committee of 25 individuals from member schools are elected to perform roles for the next two years.
The ISAT President Ajarn Usa gave her report outlining all the areas in which the ISAT subcommittees had been working. These included immigration, government liaison, particularly related to the new Education Act, the COVID pandemic and how to safely reopen schools across Thailand, international travel and quarantine, school accreditation and more many important areas.
For the election of the subcommittee, 28 individuals from member schools stood for election to the 25 posts on the committee. I was reelected to my position as Secretary-General of ISAT, and our School Director Khroo Noke was elected to this committee, as well. Together, we shall work to ensure our school is involved in all the developments with regard to the management of international schools in Thailand.
Thank you to all families for undertaking the ATK tests on Sunday night / Monday morning and Tuesday night / Wednesday morning and completing their results for their children on the Health App. We shall continue to work hard and be very vigilant with regard to trying to keep our school community safe with as little COVID infection as possible. We aim to provide clear communications to those directly affected and our whole school community as appropriate.
If your child or anyone in your family has a high temperature or slight fever along with a sore throat and possibly runny nose and cough, please use the ATK tests to check they do not have COVID infection and keep your children off school until the symptoms are no longer present. We also ask that you keep us informed of any developments so that we can take immediate action to safeguard our community.
We realise that these symptoms are similar for the common cold and Influenza A, but it is better under the present situation to exercise an extra dose of caution.
Thank you in advance for your vigilance and support in this matter.
Our last day of Term 1 will be on Friday 10th December and has been our tradition in the past. The school will close at 1.00 pm for the start of our Christmas vacation.
