Our ever-popular New and Used Books Sale takes place this week. Look out for Marisha Wojciechowska who will be signing books on Thursday. Information will be coming soon on how to be a Library Monitor next year as well as our summer reading challenge and please bring in your overdue books and start borrowing for the summer.
Asia Books (outside the Office) and Kinokuniya (outside the Library) will be here during the week with lots of books for all ages and levels so that the children will be able to stock up for their holiday reading.
Author and St Andrews International School Bangkok High School parent Marisha Wojciechowska will be in the Library at 2.30 p.m. on Thursday 13 June signing copies of her new ‘Bangkok - City of Angels’ activity book which Asia Books will be selling throughout the week or until stock runs out.
We are very sorry to report that our shipment of books is currently stuck with Thai Customs and we are doing our best to facilitate its delivery to us as swiftly as possible. Thank you for your patience and we will distribute the books as soon as we receive them OR update you further in due course.
Our popular Used Books Sale will be taking place in the Library all this week so come in and grab yourself a bargain for your summer holiday reading. Books will be available from only 10 baht each and all the money raised from the sale will be added to our March total and donated to a very worthwhile local cause. More details coming soon. Thank you all for your support.
Please have a good look around at home for any overdue Library books as we will be sending out payment notices for overdue and ‘lost’ books over the next two weeks in order to clear all accounts before the end of the school year on 26 June. Deadline for return of all books is Friday 14 June
Summer borrowing will start on Monday 17 June (on cleared accounts only).
Our current Library Monitors are eagerly awaiting their celebratory end of year Pizza Party which will take place on 19 June during normal KS2 lunchtime. Permission slips will be coming home next week.
Application forms are now available in the Library for children from Year 4 - 6 who would like to apply to be a Library Monitor in the new school year. Duties will include:
Being on duty after snack/ lunch one day a week
Shelving books
Helping students with finding books on the computer and on the shelves
Our Summer Reading Challenge will be launched on 17 June so look out for an email with all the details. Children who would like to take part will be able to borrow a maximum of 3 books over the holiday ONLY on individual cleared accounts. Please note there will be no summer borrowing on family accounts.
