Our ballers did us proud in Phuket at the end of the week with some impressive performances and proved what great ambassadors our athletes are for our school. Our U15 tennis team shines at BISAC, our U13 FOBISIA team sets off to challenge themselves against the best of the best and our Marlins swim their hearts out at BISAC.
Last week, 40 of our U13 and U15 ballers travelled to Phuket to take part in the BISP 3on3 Festival. This is a great experience for our ballers and is the only trip in our calendar that is exclusively basketball, so it’s become a highlight of their year.
Our U13s dominated once again, with the girls A and B teams facing each other in the final for the second year in a row. The A team came out champions. Our boys A team won also, claiming our third U13 Boys title in a row!
The U15s did well, the girls eventually playing each other for third, which the A team claimed.
In the boys, our A team reached the final. Despite an early lead, they eventually lost by 1 point. Our B team only lost one game all tournament, but because of the draw, ended up fifth.
Our ballers displayed great skill and passion throughout but the Flames spirit was best shown by boys’ captain Nicky, who took the mic at the end and thanked BISP for a great tournament. Such class!
Our U13 team departs today for their Games at Thanypura, Phuket. Please see Facebook and Instagram for updates during the week.
It’s been another busy week for STA Tennis with our U15 BISAC Girls team in action again with a hard fought match against RIS. We also had a number of players represent the school in the U15 BISAC Singles tournament played on Saturday. Well done to all involved!
Congratulations to Moe and Grape who won 2nd and 3rd place in the U15 BISAC Tennis Singles tournament at HIS.
Our FOBISIA team have also made their way to Delhi and will be in action until 20 March. We look forward to welcoming them back and hearing about their experiences.
We are also making arrangements for our Term 3 Tennis sessions, please check your email to confirm your intentions for next term and allow us to finalise our schedule.

Congratulations to our Marlins swimmers to pitted themselves against the best of the best in the BISAC Swimming Championships on Sunday. After an amazing performance from our Junior Marlins on Saturday, our Seniors showed how hard work and dedication pays off with some excellent individual performances and a fantastic team result. Well done to all.
What a big improvement for the Senior Marlins at the BISAC Senior Swimming Championship 2019 last weekend. We gave the field some real competition and finished 4th place overall. More importantly, I am proud of the way our swimmers work as a team and swim as a team. Our senior swimmers enjoyed their races, demonstrated more responsibility, and supported each other. These are the reasons why Marlins Swimming continues to improve year by year. As always, we will keep working hard and try even harder to move forward together!
Please stay up-to-date by joining our STA Flames & Marlins Facebook closed group for parents and students who are part of our Sports Programme.
As it’s a closed group not open to the general public, please complete the questions so that we know if you’re part of our STA community.
Parents may post to this group and it’s been great to see some of your photos of our kids in action!
