Parents are reminded that our car park is a no-idling zone and are asked to remind their drivers to turn off their engines while waiting...Parent consultations continue this week... Fun Day is just around the corner… Read on to find out about a competition with an amazing prize from Mermaid Dive.
Everyone is Bangkok is acutely aware of the pollution problems that the city is experiencing, and we explained last week about the way we manage this in school regarding break times. Surprisingly, this important community concern has not filtered through to some users of our car parks and we are still finding cars that are idling whilst waiting for students to come out of school.
Could we please make a renewed plea for everyone to talk to their family drivers and ask them to please turn off engines whilst waiting to pick up children? We understand that getting into a hot car is not pleasant, but it only takes a minute or two for the aircon to work its magic. Better that than adding to the air pollution around school.
This year’s Fun Day is just two weekends away - Saturday 2 February. This is always one of the highlights of the year for our school community and is a lovely way for everyone (students, parents and STA staff) to relax together here at the Primary Campus. It’s a day full of music, rides and activities for the kids, food and drinks and is one not to be missed.
As Fun Day approaches, we are encouraging everyone to dig through their cupboards and wardrobes, browse their bookshelves and sort through the toy box to find as many items as possible to donate to our “White Elephant Stall”.
Some of you might know the White Elephant stall as a rummage sale - the place where once loved items or unwanted gifts can find another home. For the last two years this has been one of the most popular attractions of the Fun Day because, let’s face it, everyone loves a bargain!
Please bring your donations and put them into the House Boxes you can see appearing around school. Attach your child’s name, class and House to earn some house points too. The money from this stall will go to a worthy charity - details to follow.
As Fun Day approaches and excitement rises, it is time to launch the annual Fun Day Raffle Draw.
Every year there are fabulous prizes to be won and this year is no different. Early this week each child will bring home one book of tickets. Tickets are 50B each or 500B for the book. Money and ticket stubs should be returned to the Accounts Office along with any unwanted tickets that can then be resold. If you need more books these can also be collected from the Office. High School students will also bring home a book of tickets when they return from residentials next week.
Fun Day is the only fund-raising event for our PTG and the sale of raffle tickets is a big part of that. Please do sell as many tickets as you can to help our PTG continue to support our community.
Each year, the Try-Dive sessions, run by Mermaids Dive Center, are one of the most popular attractions. If you would like your child to have a free one hour dive, please sign them up using the link on Moodle. They will need to bring a swimming costume and a towel on Fun Day.
To celebrate this being our 4th year of try-dives with Mermaids Dive Center on Fun Day, they are offering an amazing prize for one lucky person. Somebody will be walking away with a FREE Open Water Course with Mermaids Dive Center, worth 16,700B. All the children need to do is design an eye-catching poster to advertise the event. If your child would like to take part, please email Miss Siona (siona.ma@standrews.ac.th) for more information. The closing date for entries is Monday 28 January.
Tomorrow is the second day of consultations in KS2. You can re-check your appointment times using the links below.
