As 5th December is observed as Thailand’s National Day and National Father’s Day each year in honour of His Majesty the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej, the Thai government invites all people to commemorate His Majesty the late king, the Father of the Thai Nation. He is most remembered for his immense benevolence and contributions for improving livelihoods of all Thai people by implementing numerous sustainable development projects around the nation. In addition, the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) has declared 5th December to be World Soil Day, and in a related event, the International Union of Soil Sciences (IUSS) awarded its first Humanitarian Soil Scientist to His Majesty the late King Bhumibol to honour his tremendous work and contributions in the conservation of soil and natural resources and the environmental protection. The Thai people are encouraged to follow in the footsteps of the late King for the prosperity and sustainability of the country.

Last week a link was emailed to every family so that everyone can access, and hopefully complete, this survey. NAE sends out this survey every year for each of their schools so that we all get anonymous feedback from our school communities. This can give us a lot of really useful information to help plan for the future as we build and adapt our improvement plans. Kindly take the time to complete the survey so we can get the maximum amount of feedback possible. The survey will be live until Sunday, 20 January 2019.
The Rembrandt Studio Photo products will arrive at the Primary School during the course of this week. We will send you an email to let you know the exact date of delivery. Your orders will be sent home with your child.
Our school has been working hard to try and find more car parking for parents of children who attend our Primary School on Sukhumvit 71. There is now a large car parking area available by Pridi Soi 22 called Suk 71.
Our school name will also be shown indicating that our parents can park for free in this area. One of the school security guards will be there from Monday 26 November, both mornings and afternoons, to help direct parents into parking spaces. It is hoped that parents will use this space and walk the short distance to school and so prevent the congestion that happens in the school car park, particularly at the end of the school day.
Again I ask parents not to park in any of the streets off Soi 20 which will prevent us from blocking this residential area. This area is a no parking zone and the police are patrolling this area and wheel-clamping cars that are parked there. I hope that parents who need to park will use this great new space, very close to school, at Suk 71.
As we normally do this time of year, we begin the process of recruiting staff for the start of next academic year. First we have surveyed our own teaching staff to let us know what their plans are for their futures at St Andrews. I am pleased to report that turnover from this year’s wonderful group of teachers is going to be very low. In the near future we shall be advertising a whole range of positions - many of which are sought to increase the number of courses offered in the High School IGCSE and IB curriculum, and to support and enhance the specialist subjects taught in the Primary School.
The school calendar showing our term dates and holidays throughout the year has now been approved. This is available for the school website and can be seen by following this link.
