Nursery Rhyme Week and Loy Krathong were highlights of the week at St Andrews International School Bangkok...We look ahead to Christmas with dates for your diary and a fun activity with STEPS.
This year, we are making a slight change to the reporting cycle in KS1. Your children’s Term 1 reports will be available to download from Moodle on Friday 14th December. These reports focus on their general progress in their new year groups, as well as their progress in maths and English. The parent consultations will take place on Tuesday 15th and Tuesday 22nd January from 2.45 - 5.30 pm. Parents are also welcome to schedule meetings outside of these times.

Last week saw a new event for St Andrews International School Bangkok as we joined World Nursery Rhyme Week, and showed that Nursery Rhymes are for everyone not just for the Foundation Stage students!
So much work went on across the whole of Primary. We had charades, animations, miming and illustrating, as well as the early morning singing sessions in the Rhyme Tent, which became more and more popular as the week went on. We even had some of the teachers signing the rhymes too, which lots of children joined in with.
Many of you will have been in school last Thursday to celebrate Loy Krathong with us. It was lovely to see so many children and their teachers dressed up in Traditional costumes, learning about this special Thai Festival.
The assembly performances in the morning were brilliant. The narrators, actors and musicians were so confident in their delivery and produced a wonderful spectacle. Congratulations to all of the students from Y2-Y6 who were part of this and to their teachers.
Following the assembly it was nice to see the older students helping the younger ones to make their krathongs - a really special part of the St Andrews Loy Krathong tradition.
Word Mania is over for another year and the final results are in. The STA students have done an absolutely amazing job over the last few weeks. Fingers have been furiously tapping out words in a bid to be number one in the word for each year group. It was really interesting to see the children’s ability to build words increase over the weeks in terms of speed and variety.
We are very happy to inform you of the final standings:
Year 1 - 41st in the world!
Year 2 - 45th in the world!
What an amazing job of putting St Andrews firmly on the Word Mania map.
