Jungle book
The Key Stage 2 production of The Jungle Book created a great atmosphere around the Primary School last week. I know everyone is looking forward to the final performances this week. The cast and their teachers have been working hard in the final rehearsals, the costumes look brilliant, and the Drama Studio has been transformed into a veritable jungle, really bringing to life the setting of this production. I wish all the performers, musicians and participants the best of luck for the coming week for their final Jungle Book performances.
Graduation
Last week our Year 13 students completed their final external International Baccalaureate examinations. Now that the Class of 2018 will have completed all aspects of their final studies at our school, they can look forward to our Graduation Ceremony which will be held on Saturday 26 May at the Marriott Marquis Queen’s Park Hotel. This will be a special occasion for the graduates of the Class of 2018, their families, close friends and their teachers. The Class of 2018 is the first class to be graduating from our new High School having spent their final year enjoying the new facilities and learning spaces.
Our Graduates will be heading off to a diverse range of universities around the world. From the class of 60 students, our Seniors have applied to over 200 different universities in 18 different countries - truly an international graduating class. Many have already sealed their offers, while others anxiously await the results from their exams.
I know everyone in the Class of 2018 have all the skills they need to take on this next challenge, enjoy it and make themselves very successful in whatever field they have chosen as a career at this stage in their young lives. They’ve all worked so hard, and our Graduation Ceremony will be a fitting end to their monumental efforts.
I am sure the whole school community will join me in congratulating the Class of 2018 in the way they have led our school over the past year and wish them every success for the future. Well done, Class of 2018!
I look forward to seeing everyone next Saturday at Graduation.
Enrolment for next academic year
Last week you should have received an email from Mr Geoff and Miss Diane asking for confirmation of your plans for next academic year. My sincere appreciation goes to all of you who responded either last term or in response to the reminder. However, we are still waiting for a few families to get in touch with us. This essential information allows our academic team to move forward with development and planning in the new academic year as we are currently processing a large number of applications from those wishing to join St Andrews International School Bangkok.
More happenings around school
This coming week sees our Years 10 and 12 students taking their end of year examinations. Also, Key stage 3 has an exciting week as Year 6 students join them in Project Week. Every student has selected a project they would like to get involved with this week. It certainly will be a great introduction to High School life for our current Year 6 students who will be able to relax and have fun during Project Week - a great reward after completing their SAT assessments last week.
In Early Years, KG is enjoying a day trip to Molly Fantasy which I know is a very popular destination for this age group. I am sure they will really enjoy this day out of school and away from their normal routine. Year 2 are also having an exciting event to look forward to. They will have their sleepover in school. The whole year group with their teachers and teaching assistants are invited to stay on at school on Thursday and have an exciting evening with their friends before finally settling down for a night’s sleep around their classrooms. This is a great preparation for the off-site residential visit they will have when they are in Year 3 next year.
