Our swimmers, tennis players and footballers again show us that their hard work pays off with some excellent results. Mr. Damon recaps all the sport training available at St Andrews at the weekend and don’t forget to get acquainted with the new sports communication system which will be up and running in August.
We have had another busy week in Primary PE with 3 Sports Days, BISAC tennis, the Flying Fish Swim Meet in Phuket and our footballers enjoying their 3v3 tournament.
What a great week of school sport with close to 600 children involved in their Sports Days. It was fantastic to see so many children being active and enjoying sport. It’s been a great year for YAO winning all three Sports Day. With only Year 5/ 6 Sports Day left, surely YAO cannot win all 4.
A big thank you to our Year 4 and Year 6 leaders who helped out during the three events, we have truly awesome children at STA.
This past weekend our Primary Marlin swimmers took a trip down to Phuket for the annual BISP Flying Fish Meet and were able to swim their way to 2nd high point award behind the host BISP. Overall, it was a massive effort from our swimmers as they muscled their ways to numerous personal best times. Two individual high point trophies were won, both 1st for their respective age groups. Hats off to everyone involved including the parents and the PE Department. Go Marlins!
Our squad team were in action this weekend at their 3v3 tournament. All our teams played some great football and reached 4 finals, winning 2. Well done to all the children involved and especially our girls teams who played against Thai Academy boys teams from higher age categories.
Harrow Festival - 12 May - U9/U11 teams
Our tennis U11 players played in their BISAC Invitational on Saturday and Sunday. Our players have made a great deal of progress and their results were very impressive. Well done for all your hard work.
Thank you to all the parents who came to the FOBISIA parents meeting last Thursday.
Athletics training take place at the Ramkhamhaeng University Track on 9, 16 an 23rd May. This will be great preparation for our young athletes to work on their track and field events in the proper environment.
It is now time to start thinking about the kit your child will need for the FOBISIA Games. All items are available in the Uniform Shop. If your child does not have the Flames Teeball logo on their PE top please bring it to K. Seung to have the logo added.

Wednesday - All FOBISIA SQUAD (Years 6,5,4) will have athletics training. This will give all children a chance to work on their athletic events.
Friday - All FOBISIA SQUAD (Years 6,5,4) will have teeball training at the Arsenal training facility Pridi Soi 21. We normally only do this a couple of times before FOBISIA, but by using the bigger teeball pitches at Arsenal for longer, we will be better prepared.
If you have any questions please email Mr Damon.
We hope you may have had a chance to look at our news Sports portal, where we are already posting fixtures, team sheets, photos etc for our busy sports schedule. You may access it using this link.
The site is open for players and parents alike to check rosters, schedules etc. It is a great tool for communication between coaches, players and parents, though unlike the current system, the emphasis will be on parents and players to be proactive in checking the site, rather than awaiting emails from coaches!
We will still need to communicate via email for transport requirements for the time being.
Mr. Ollie presented the new system to the High School students in early March so that they may get to know it. He’ll recommend to them that they show it to you too, in case you’re interested.
We recommend that you visit the site and familiarise yourself with it. If you have any feedback, please let either Mr Damon or Mr Ollie know.
By August, we hope everyone will be ready to use SOCS to follow the action!
Our Saturday programme continues to grow and it is great seeing so many of our STA children coming to school to enjoy playing sport together.
On Saturday we had our very first Saturday football. Close to 60 children were at STA on Saturday to enjoy playing football. In case of bad weather, training will continue in the Red Room.
Due to a recent development, Saturday Football on the 16 June cannot take place so it will change to 19 May. I will confirm this in an email.
Our Open basketball and Flames Academy sessions continue to grow with many children enjoying the game and being coached at a high level of basketball.
If you would like to know more about our Saturday programme please email Mr Damon.
