Congratulations to the winners of our 2018 EY and Primary Book Week T-shirt Competition.
Well done Meiji and Machi! You will both receive your very own Book Week T-shirt and 5 house points.
A big thank you to all the children who entered the competition. All the entries were amazing and you’ll get two house points each. Well done everyone.
Book Week got off to an amazing start on Monday with not just one but two book fairs!! Both Book Arena and Kinokuniya have proven to be very popular. Book Arena will stay with us until Wednesday and Kinokuniya until Friday, so there will be plenty of opportunities to buy some great books.
We also have lots of activities planned for this week, such as “Library Treasure Hunt”, “Guess our Mystery Books”, Charlotte’s Web the movie, and many more. Our used-book sale, which can be found inside the Library, got off to a great start as well. We have a huge selection of used-books, with not only children’s books but also adult fiction. Come and see for yourself.

With a lyrical text that's soothing and inspiring, this tender tale is a needed comfort and a new classic that will resonate with readers of every age.
Seven clever stories answer one simple question: what’s in the box?
Funny, fantastic, spooky, and suspenseful, each of these unique and beautifully illustrated short graphic works revolves around a central theme: a mysterious box and the marvels—or mayhem—inside. Artists include middle school favorites Kazu Kibuishi, Raina Telgemeier (Smile), and Dave Roman (Astronaut Academy), as well as Jason Caffoe, Stuart Livingston, Johane Matte, Rad Sechrist (all contributors to the groundbreaking comics anthology series Flight), and upcoming artist Emily Carroll.
The electrifying #1 New York Times bestselling first installment of the action-packed Michael Vey series from author Richard Paul Evans.
My name is Michael Vey, and the story I’m about to tell you is strange. Very strange. It’s my story.
To everyone at Meridian High School, Michael Vey is an ordinary fourteen-year-old. In fact, the only thing that seems to set him apart is the fact that he has Tourette’s syndrome. But Michael is anything but ordinary. Michael has special powers. Electric powers.
Michael thinks he's unique until he discovers that a cheerleader named Taylor also has special powers. With the help of Michael’s friend, Ostin, the three of them set out to discover how Michael and Taylor ended up this way, but their investigation brings them to the attention of a powerful group who wants to control the electric children – and through them the world. Michael will have to rely on his wits, powers, and friends if he’s to survive.
Embark on an adventure of personal creativity and invention with fan favorite Rosie Revere! This activity book features art from the picture book Rosie Revere, Engineer and will inspire young readers with activities of all kinds. Kids will have the chance to design a better bicycle, build a simple catapult, construct a solar oven, and more! This empowering activity book will teach problem-solving and creative-thinking skills crucial to STEM fields while also providing opportunities for its readers to try new things and, sometimes, to fail. As the picture book so brilliantly showed hundreds of thousands of young readers, flops are an inevitable part of success and something to be celebrated rather than feared. Created by Andrea Beaty and David Roberts, the same New York Times bestselling team who brought us Rosie Revere, Iggy Peck, and Ada Twist, this activity book will be perfect for old and new fans alike!

The High School Library is pleased to introduce a “World Languages” section to our collection. Thanks to the language teachers, many books that were previously kept in the Language Department have been transferred to the Library and are available for students to browse and borrow. These include text books as well as lesson resource material. As with all other books, the standard loan period is two weeks.
