House leaders give information on the many ways you can earn lots of house points this term.
The House Team would like to wish everyone a warm welcome back after the holidays and kick off term 2 with a lovely letter of recognition from Father Joe of the Mercy Center. Thanks to all the donations from the St Andrews community, the children of the Mercy Center were able to have an extra special Christmas.
Please see the message below from Mrs. Meg who is searching for items for her Fun Day White Elephant stall.
The annual St Andrews Fun Day is coming up soon (Saturday, 3 February). The EYFS and Learning Support teachers will be running their own “White Elephant” stall for Fun Day raising money for the school charities. A White Elephant stall traditionally sells second hand bric-a-brac (miscellaneous) items which are donated by the community. Please donate anything which you no longer want, need or use at home. Anything can be sold: books, games, toys, ornaments, plants, instruments. You may no longer want or need them but other people may love to have them.
House point alert! This will also be a house point raising activity where every child who donates an item will receive a house point. Send your items in a bag or box with your child’s name, year group and house clearly written. There will be boxes for each house in the Early Years shared area, outside the Library and in the KS1 canteen. Please donate before Wednesday 31 January.
We are looking for student volunteers to help sell the items. You will receive 10 house points if you are able to spare 30 minutes of your time during Fun Day. Please see or email Mrs Meg to sign up for a time slot meg.ki@standrews.ac.th
St Andrews students have a busy term coming up and with it comes loads of opportunities to get involved in competitions! We will be running some Sustainability Week competitions AND there is a Talent Show looming. Please keep your ear to the ground for more information regarding these competitions in the coming weeks.
Before Christmas we had our new House banners made and put up in the Atrium; I’m sure you will agree they look pretty cool. In addition, we recently asked the students to vote for a new House mascot that would represent their House and the final results are…

We didn’t want to just stop there though so we had actual life size mascots made and presented themselves in the end of term assembly which was a huge success with our very own Mr. Paul, Mr. Roo, Mr. Daff and Ms. Martine sporting these life size costumes.
