Primary School Library

A BIG thank you to everyone who visited our Book Fair last week. Both Paragon Asia and Book Arena proved to be very popular and were very busy throughout the week!

Our used-book sale was also amazingly successful. Over 1,150 books were donated, ranging from children’s classics to adult fiction books. We would like to thank all of you who donated and/or bought books. Because of you we have raised a huge THB 17,000 for the charity Rainbow House!!

Now the big moment awaits...Which house donated the most books:

The winner is AKHA with 410 books!!! Well done AKHA!! Yao followed closely with 392 books and 3rd place goes to LAHU with 184 books. Last but not least, 4th place goes to KAREN who donated 107 books. Well done everyone! The house points will be awarded as following:

Akha: 50 house points
Yao: 40 house points
Lahu: 30 house points
Karen: 20 house points

Getting festive in the Library

After a week of hard work on their Christmas decorations, the children were finally able to decorate our Christmas Tree, accompanied by our fantastic KS2 choir! Our library was once again buzzing and everyone had a wonderful time. We can quite confidently say, though we might be slightly biased, that it’s the best decorated tree in the entire school!

Great for story-time (age 3+):

High School Library

During this year’s High School Book Week a record number of people visited the library to participate in various library events and activities ranging from displaying their painstaking work, finding hidden treasures, exploring themselves through poetry with an exceptional poet, enjoying the ambient music concerts to showing off their creative book character costumes. The High School library really appreciates your support and participation, and we could not have made all the events and activities successful without your ardent support. In addition many special thanks go out to the English faculty, Y12 CAS students and the office support staff, who helped us prepare for all the events and activities in the library. Activities Review

1. Biblio-Battle: Japanese students have worked hard on their book review project supervised by Mr. Tsuyoshi Midomaru, and a special zone in the library displays fantastic student book reviews. Great job!
2. Mini-concerts: Two concerts during lunch time in the library were a big hit! The program was St Andrews Choir, Brass Quintet and String Ensemble. Special thanks to the performers and all the teachers of the High School Music Department.
3. Get Caught Reading: There were many contestants sending their photos to the library and it was really difficult to select the winners. The committee have chosen three winners, Agam 8H, Ni 7H and Sofia 7D. Please see them in the Book Week photos below.
4. Golden Tickets: Many hunters chased 3 Golden Tickets hidden inside 3 library items with the clues posted on the High School notices everyday. As a result of the three day hunting journey, all the Golden Tickets were found by three lucky students, Caitlyn 8A, Andrew 8H and Juan 8D. Congratulations!!
5. Blind Date with a Book: Some students were very excited to check out the new unknown, mysterious book with a fabulous package. Once students finished reading the mystery books, they provided us with a short book review. 1 house point will be awarded by the library. Hope they will enjoy the books.
6. Book Fair: Kinokuniya and AsiaBooks have installed their booths in front of the library, selling many different kinds of books including newly released books. Students, parents and teachers came to the booths at their convenience and spent their time to select favourite books at a special discount. In addition, they will provide the library with some commission to increase our book collection based on their sales during the week. Thank you so much for those who bought books from them.
