Primary Students will take part in a hands-on workshop while High School music ECAs expand their offerings.
This term, Year 4 are learning about Thai music. To support this topic work, we have invited a Thai Musician into school next week. He will be showing the children different Thai instruments, and teaching them how to play them, so that we can have a go at learning a class ensemble piece using some Thai instruments. He will also perform for the children. It should be a really great workshop! Thank you to Khroo Kitty for helping us organise this.
The keyboard lessons got off to a great start this week. Year 4 have explored the pentatonic scale and begun their own compositions and Year 3 have worked on finger technique and will be learning some singing games on the keyboard next week. Year 1 had their very first lessons and worked on developing a lovely straight posture by balancing toys on their heads as they played!
A very warm welcome from High School music. We have made a great start to the new academic year and have welcomed our new music teacher, Mr Nathan who is a woodwind specialist.
With ECA ‘sign ups’ fast approaching we would like to outline the Musical opportunities at our new campus.
With all music ECAs we strongly encourage students to continue with groups they have previously participated in and we look forward to welcoming lots of new faces.
If an ECA is by invitation, please ask your child to speak to a music teacher.

We are all very excited about the forthcoming year and all the great music we will create in our fantastic new facilities!
With the goal of providing meaningful help to the flood victims in the northern regions of Thailand, our entire community at St Andrews Bangkok came together to raise funds and donations for the affected families. In the span of a few short weeks, added to donations of food and clothing, we managed to raise an astounding total of 386,676.50 THB in donation funds. To all students, teachers, parents, and staff who participated in our efforts and contributed to this cause—thank you!
Last Friday, the STA Primary campus was transformed into a celebration of all things maths! The day was packed with engaging, hands-on activities across all year groups, making maths truly come alive for our students.
Senior student at St Andrews Bangkok, Pun (Year 13), devises an innovative solution for effective waste management. Recently, he completed an ambitious project: an AI-powered waste sorting system. After much research and testing, he got the system to work and put the model to use in one of our rooms at school!
