What a fantastic first day of the school year, and first day of our new St Andrews International School Bangkok High School. It has been great to see how all the students and teachers have settled so quickly into the new school, and walking around this afternoon it was almost impossible to tell that it was all so new for everyone, and especially for all of our new students, Year 7, who are new to the High School, and over thirty new High School teachers and Learning Support Assistants. We welcome you to all to St Andrews’ High School.

It has been a very busy day, with students beginning the day by spending two hours with their Tutors, during which they received copies of their timetables and details of their logins and lockers, as well as discussing What makes a Great St Andrews Community.
Before break, we had our first High School Assembly of the new school year, gathering almost 800 students and over 100 teachers and Learning Support Assistants in the Atrium of the Red Building.
During the day, all of the students also took part in a “Treasure Hunt” around the new High School to make sure that they know where everything is. Now that they have all completed this, I can share this diagram, showing which subjects are on each floor.
As you can see, we have three further floors to develop for next year and, as soon as we are settled in to our new High School we will start to plan how to make the school even better next year.
We ended the day with an evacuation walk-through, to ensure that all students and teachers are aware of these very important procedures. There will be a full fire drill in the near future.
Below are some highlights of this year’s High School Calendar, including the forthcoming Parents' Information Evenings and the dates of this term’s Grade Reports and Parent/Student/Teacher Meetings. In next week’s Newsletter I will include a full calendar for what is going to be an amazing first term at our new High School.
