Year 5 & 6 Residential Trips
Last Friday afternoon the Year 5 and 6 students arrived back from their trips bleary eyed but full of tales of the adventures they had. The school Facebook page was continuously updated with photos through the week (which are still on the page if you haven’t had a look yet).
This week it’s Year 4’s turn, as they head off to Pranburi on Wednesday. The Year 4 teachers will keep you updated with photos through the Facebook page - https://www.facebook.com/standrewsbangkok/
Parent Survey 2017
Every year at around this time we send home a survey to parents to ask for your feedback about all aspects of school life. Hopefully this should have arrived in your inbox sometime last week. Please find a few minutes to complete the survey - just one per family. Receiving your feedback means that we are able to make developments that enhance the happiness, and therefore learning, of your children. Click here to access the survey.
Global Awareness - No Car Engine Idling Awareness House Competition
At St. Andrews we strive to make all of our students globally aware through educating them about issues in a variety of contexts - local, regional and worldwide. This includes helping them understand their role in a 21st Century world - the impact they have and what they can do to make the world a better place for everyone. This includes being socially, culturally and environmentally aware.
One issue which has been raised about our school community, and which should be easily rectifiable with raised awareness and education, is the impact of car idling on pollution levels.
Did you know that there are currently now more than 37 million registered cars and motorcycles in Thailand?
To help raise awareness of this issue, the students need to design a poster which will be professionally printed up and displayed in our car park. The competition is split up into 3 age groups - KS1 (Y1&2), Lower KS2 (Y3&4) and Upper KS2 (Y5&6). Everyone who takes part will receive House points and the winners will receive bonus points. The closing date for the competition is Friday 17th February.

Book Week is coming…
It's that wonderful time of the year again when children can begin thinking about which book character to get dressed up as for our annual Primary Book Character Parade!
This year’s Primary Book Week runs from Tuesday 21st - Friday 24th March. There will be events and competitions galore for the children to get involved in, which will help to further instill a love of reading and books. On the Friday of Book Week, all students (and staff) should come to school dressed as a character from a book. To pay homage to one of the best-loved children's authors of all time, Roald Dahl, we are encouraging children to get dressed up as their favourite character from any of his amazing books.
**This website will give you some tips and ideas for this.
Details of the upcoming Book Week events and competitions will be shared with everyone soon. For now, everyone just needs to start thinking of their unique book character costume.
Good luck!
