As part of the Juilliard-Nord Anglia Performing Arts Programme, St. Andrews music teachers and students will welcome The Juilliard School's Kathryn Andersen on Tuesday 4th October. Kathryn is our Music Curriculum Specialist and will spend three days working with different year groups and making music with us. If you see her around our campus, please make her feel very welcome!
Kathryn is a violinist from Pittsfield, Massachusetts. She received her Masters degree in Music from The Juilliard School and her Bachelor of Arts from Harvard University. Kathryn has worked as a professional violinist both nationally and internationally. Kathryn is also a dedicated teacher, and has served as a Teaching Artist through the Weill Music Institute at Carnegie Hall. Previously she taught in New York City public schools in Brooklyn, the Bronx and Staten Island. Kathryn also spent six years as a violin and viola instructor.
St. Andrews International School Bangkok collaborates with world-leading tertiary institutions to foster a love of learning in your child, just as universities inspire their students to direct their own learning. The opportunity of working with The Juilliard School's world-leading artists will no doubt inspire our students' curiosity and creativity, encouraging them to be ambitious for themselves and aim high.
The Juilliard School, founded in 1905, is a world leader in performing arts education. Juilliard’s mission is to provide the highest calibre of artistic education for gifted musicians, dancers and actors from around the world so that they may achieve their fullest potential as artists, leaders and global citizens. Located at the Lincoln Center in New York City, Juilliard offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in dance, drama and music.
As part of the St Andrews Careers programme, Year 10 and Year 12 students had the valuable opportunity to hear from 20 industry professionals, including alumni, about various career pathways. The morning panel discussions provided insights into professional routes, required qualifications, and essential interpersonal skills for workplace success.
As Term 3 comes to an end, three senior students, Eleonore, Natalie, and Ananya, reflect on their experiences in the IB Diploma Programme at St Andrews International School Bangkok. Perhaps one of the most meaningful projects Ananya and Natalie took on during their senior studies was starting a foundation with a few other friends called Today4tomorrow – an initiative to provide opportunities to underprivileged girls in Thailand.
