It was great to have the full Extra-Curricular Activity and Sports programme up and running again. Parents will be allowed to come to school for sports fixtures to watch their children play against other schools.
At the end of last week, it was fabulous to see so many classes take advantage of some cooler weather. Some Year 4 groups came outside to have some class discussions whilst the Foundation Stage students got to run.

This week, four Senior VEX teams did incredibly well in the VEX Robotics Thai Nationals, pushing themselves to win a spot at the VEX World Championship in Dallas, Texas.

Introducing our new Head of Geography, a proud Welshman with over 30 years of experience as a teacher. Mr Trevor has taught in international schools all over the world and is an impassioned geographer! Fun fact, Mr Trevor has captained his country at Welsh Tchoukball and is excited to teach STA more about this inclusive sport!
Mr Will joins our team of Primary Teachers as a Classroom Teacher for Year 4. Mr Will has a fascinating background in education, sport and coaching. With an array of teaching and coaching experiences in the UK, USA, South Africa and China.
In Year 8’s Technology course, half of this year’s students have recently rotated into Robotics. These future AI engineers and tech wizards eagerly unwrapped their VEX equipment and dove right into the construction of their set designs. The theme of learning focuses on Mechanisms, or looking at the motion involved with gears, levers, pulleys, lifts, cranks and linkages.

Meet Mr Derek, our new Head of Science. Mr Derek has an expanse of experience, including over 30 years in education in some of the best schools in the UK, accompanied by a Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and a Master’s Degree in Education. Mr Derek also has IB qualifications in Physics and TOK along with IGCSE experience. He has plenty of career highlights, leading winning student teams to NASA competitions in Houston, USA, and month-long World Challenge trips with students to Costa Rica and Vietnam.
Meet Mr Brett, our new vocational learning expert leading the Travel and Tourism and Business and Enterprise BTEC at St Andrews. Mr Brett has a vast range of experience, including 20+ years in the tourism industry, a Master's degree in Tourism, a Bachelor's in Marketing, real-world entrepreneurial experience, and a diverse background in education. He’s also a proud father of two boys and an Aussie passionate about Surfing. Learn more below...
We are immensely proud of Bjorn's incredible accomplishment. It's the first of its kind within St Andrews 25-year history and a record that now belongs to Bjorn. He has conquered the challenges created by his ADHD and dyslexia and achieved the goals he sets for himself. Bjorn's determination to “be the best he can be” is an inspiration to us all.
