Could this be the Regents first gymnastic champion? He already is. He may look little, but 5 year old Ian from Year 1 certainly has Big Dreams.

Little Ian has been working hard towards his dreams and training with his personal trainer, PE Teacher Mr Ivan Melo Vaca, aka “Coach Dad”, for months and has been making good use of the available gymnastic equipment in the Early Primary building.
It’s not only a fun physical activity, but also great exercise and the chance to practice discipline which teaches hard work, patience and determination, of which this young man clearly has a lot. All this sweaty work has now certainly paid off as 5 year old Ian has been invited to compete against the bigger and older kids in the FOBISIA Gymnastic competition hosted by Bangkok Patana School on Saturday 10th October.
Ian is now the first Regents pupil to compete and represent his school in a gymnastics competition in Thailand.
And this is only the beginning, who knows where Ian will be in few years’ time? Possibly following in his dad’s footsteps to become a Gymnastics Champion.
As well as the Tiny-Tots Gymnastics on Saturdays, there are now weekly gymnastics sessions offering pupils from Year 1-6 a chance to try their hand – and legs – at being a gymnast. Classes are led by Mr Ivan and parent should contact him here if they are interested in finding out more.
Great effort Ian and best of luck in tomorrow’s competition.
