IGCSE Open Evening
This week we had our second open evening for students in year 9 who will be joining the Libus campus to study IGCSEs. The evening consisted of a presentation about IGCSEs and the subjects that students can choose. It is now important that year 9 students start considering their options in terms of studying the IB diploma or careers programme in year 12 as well as their university choices and eventual careers. This can be quite a daunting task so I hope that the information provided and the communication with staff and current students has helped students and parents with these difficult decisions.

Burns Night 2019
More than 150 parents and staff gathered for the annual PBIS Burns Night on Friday. Guests were greeted by a (rather cold) piper and then enjoyed an evening of Scottish food, drink, poetry, song and dance all in honour of the 18th century Scottish poet, Robert Burns.

Westbourne Grammar School, Melbourne orchestra and choir at PBIS
Year 9 and upper seniors were treated to a wonderful concert this morning at Libus campus from Westbourne Grammar School, Melbourne. The orchestra and choir are on their European tour and have performed in Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and arrived in Prague yesterday where they will perform tomorrow evening in the centre of town. They will finish their tour in Austria, Salzburg and Vienna.

D of E Award For PBIS Students
On Thursday morning, students were presented with their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze and Silver awards in the beautiful Old Town Hall in Staroměstské náměstí. 41 of our students were present to receive their awards along with students from other international schools in Prague. Two of those students, Eliška Chocová and Sandra Hoangová, who were both receiving their Bronze award, performed at the ceremony and blew the audience away with their beautiful voices and Eliška's ukulele skills, which she learned as part of her DofE.
