On Friday 7th December, 22 students departed Ho Chi Minh City to represent the BIS Barracudas at the Bangkok Feeding Frenzy.
The Bangkok Feeding Frenzy is a prestigious event on the swimming calendar. To attend this meet, students have to achieve set qualifying times to be eligible for entry. The event is hosted by Bangkok Patana School and it attracts the highest level athletes from International Schools throughout Asia.
The event this year consisted of 17 schools with over 500 participants. Throughout the meet 120 new records were achieved, which highlights the level of competition experienced at the 2018 Feeding Frenzy.
The BIS Barracudas finished the meet with 10 Individual Medals; 1 Gold, 5 Silver and 4 Bronze. The 9-10 Boys also achieved a Bronze Medal in the 200 Freestyle Relay. Of the 218 events that the BIS students participated in, 75 top 10 finishes and 138 Personal Best times (Pb’s) were achieved. This is an outstanding result from the BIS Barracudas.
The student, parents and coaching staff represented BIS HCMC to an outstanding level both in and out of the pool, demonstrating sportsmanship through perseverance, respect and integrity. All students and parents are to be congratulated on their hard work and dedication not only at the meet, but the months of preparation prior to competition. Thank you kindly to Mr Alastair Thom and Mr Vinh Nguyen who were outstanding in supporting students and parents throughout competition.
