OUR EYFS CURRICULUM

Our Pre-Nursery, Nursery, and Reception children follow the British Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum. At this formative stage in their education, our teachers will guide your child through seven key learning and development areas:

Our youngest children progress in the seven EYFS areas by playing and exploring, getting active, and taking part in activities that get them thinking creatively.

Healthy habits

From nutritious snack choices to getting active, we encourage healthy habits every single day. Eating a balanced lunch is a big part of our students’ physical development. It also gives them the energy they need to play and discover.

Taking time out

While our two-year-olds enjoy a much-needed nap, our older children make the most of our campus. There’s so much to see and do, from natural discoveries and making a splash in our rooftop garden, to cycling around our secure outdoor area.

OUR PURPOSE-BUILT CAMPUS

Our warm and welcoming Early Years and Infant Campus is the perfect place to learn.

Our splash pool, sensory walkways, rooftop garden, dedicated outdoor spaces, and playgrounds with climbing apparatus give our children the freedom to explore. And as they grow in confidence, we encourage them to use other facilities within the school, including our large library, music rooms, DREAMS lab, and more.

The Right Honourable Lord Puttnam of Queensgate, who officially opened our campus in 2018, described our early years spaces as: “The finest teaching and learning environment I have ever experienced in my life, and I’ve been around the world many, many times.”

PARENT INVOLVEMENT

OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH YOU

At BIS HCMC, we make sure our parents are involved in every aspect their child's education. This includes following your child's progress through our online learning journal, Seesaw, which includes weekly photos, videos, and written updates. You’ll also be invited to regular get-togethers throughout the year, including coffee mornings, celebrations, assemblies, and activity days. We'll welcome you into our active parent-teacher group and closeknit community, too.
