From Thursday 20th February to Sunday 23rd February, 37 of our Barracudas swimmers took part in the highly anticipated FOBISIA Swimming Competition held at Rugby School Thailand, and what an unforgettable experience it was. The competition was fierce, against 16 competing schools from across Asia, but our swimmers rose to the challenge, showcasing incredible talent, dedication, and sportsmanship.

A Record-Breaking Performance

Our team truly shone throughout the event, with an outstanding performance that far exceeded expectations.  We’re proud to announce that our swimmers secured an impressive 3rd place overall.  This remarkable achievement showcases their hard work, determination, and the incredible progress they’ve made — a milestone worth celebrating and a powerful motivator for even greater success ahead.   
The final tally of medals speaks for itself: a staggering 50 gold medals, 23 silver, and 31 bronze. These remarkable results are a testament to the hard work and preparation of every swimmer, as well as the unwavering support from coaches, parents, and school staff.

 

Highlights of the Competition

There were countless moments of excellence, from thrilling race finishes to personal bests. Our athletes not only dominated in individual events but also displayed excellent teamwork in relay races. Each event was filled with excitement and energy, and our swimmers continuously pushed themselves and each other to achieve their best.

Our swimmers' achievements weren’t just about the number of medals but also about their perseverance and sportsmanship. Many of our athletes faced tough competition and came out victorious, while others showed incredible grit in the face of challenges. This spirit is what sets our team apart and contributes to the overall success of the competition.

In addition to their medals, our swimmers set many new personal best times as well as breaking long standing school records. 

We applaud the efforts of our entire BIS HCMC team, whether they brought home a medal or not. Each athlete displayed resilience and a true love for the sport. Their determination and team spirit helped elevate the entire school community, making us proud of every single individual who represented our school at FOBISIA.

9 years:

  • 1st- Sean

10 Years:

  • 1st- Bei Bei 
  • 2nd - Weber
  • 2nd - Jiho

11 Years:

  • 3rd- Yi an

12 Years:

  • 2nd- Nathan

Combined age group results:

9-10 boys and girls - 1st place overall champions

11-12 boys and girls - 3rd place overall 

Overall Result:

We are thrilled to share that BIS HCMC finished 3rd overall out of the 16 competing schools from across Asia in the FOBISIA Swimming Competition. This achievement speaks volumes about the strength and depth of our team across all age groups and events.

Earning a spot on the overall podium is a huge accomplishment, showcasing the consistency and excellence of every swimmer, from the youngest competitors to the most seasoned athletes.

Securing 3rd place overall is not just a statistic; it’s a powerful reminder of how far we’ve come and how much potential lies within our swimmers. This incredible result serves, not only as a milestone to celebrate, but also as motivation for even greater success in the future.

Looking Ahead:

With the success of the FOBISIA Swimming Competition, we are already looking forward to the BIS Invitational upcoming in March. 

This experience has provided invaluable lessons in teamwork, discipline, and the importance of striving for excellence. Our swimmers have set the bar high, and we are excited to continue supporting their growth in the water and beyond.
