This week we were privileged to welcome the British Consul General (for Texas, Arkansas, New Mexico, Louisiana and Oklahoma) Richard Hyde and his wife Jacki. They met with Principal Wilson, our parents, toured our school and were incredibly impressed with our students.
Year 5 were lucky enough to have a session with Mr. Hyde, where they had the opportunity to ask questions about his role, as the visit coincided and linked beautifully to their learning in IPC unit, ‘Here and There, Now and Then’. Mr. and Mrs. Hyde were blown away with the quality of work that the children had produced, and as always their ability to articulate their learning.
“My wife Jacqueline and I thoroughly enjoyed meeting the students, teachers and parents of the British International School in Houston. The UK is the biggest international investor in Texas. Many British people have made Houston their home and this wonderful school provides a vital service to the many British and other families here. BISH also reflects the diversity of the UK and Houston, the most diverse city in the United States. Lovely to meet such brilliant, articulate and passionate young people.”
