Our early years curriculum
Rooted in the principles, approaches, and desired outcomes of the International Early Years Curriculum (IEYC), our tailored international pre-school programme supports each child’s cognitive, physical, and emotional development.
In our safe and nurturing early years learning environment, your child will:
- Love their first school experience and enjoy learning in new and different ways.
- Develop important social and interpersonal skills, form friendships, and interact with other children.
- Use their imagination and intuition while developing their reasoning skills.
- Acquire basic literacy and numeracy, which will help them to successfully transition into primary school.
- Take part in activities that improve their motor and coordination skills, and support their physical development.
- Enjoy creative experiences in music, art and drama, as well as STEAM lessons that spark their curiosity.
Personal, social, and emotional development
Personal, social, and emotional development is an integral part of our early years curriculum. We set time aside for children to take part in engaging activities – including role play and stories – that enable cooperation, empathy, and mutual respect. We encourage our children to become increasingly aware of others, take control of their actions, and share their feelings, too. We also have quiet time every day after lunch, where our children rest or take part in guided meditation.
Our early years environment
Our vibrant early years classrooms and stimulating outdoor activity areas – including two adventure playgrounds, a mud kitchen, and natural structures – enhance our students’ learning. Our classrooms include construction blocks, costumes, arts and crafts, and interactive technology, as well as a book corner, discovery area, sand and water zone, and space for cooking.
Emergent literacy
In Foundation 1 and 2, we inspire our students to love reading and writing. Our children spend time listening to new and favourite books, retelling stories, and taking on new information. This ensures they’re ready for our formal literacy and numeracy approach in Year 1.
Keeping in touch with you
We’ll send you regular updates about your child’s learning journey. You'll receive photos and videos direct from the classroom to your phone. Your child’s class teacher will give you progress updates, too.
