Dear Parents,
Thank you for taking the time to participate in last week's Parent-Teacher Conferences (PTC). Your engagement in these conversations is invaluable in supporting our children's learning and development.
Year 1 Sports Day
What a fantastic morning we had at Year 1's Sports Day! It was heartening to see all the children participating enthusiastically in a variety of events, from long jump to javelin, egg and spoon races, and our exciting running races. Each child showcased their spirit and sportsmanship, making it a memorable day for everyone involved. Well-done to all participants for their effort and determination.
Summer Term ECAs
We are excited to announce that our Summer Term Extra-Curricular Activities (ECAs) are now available to view on Firefly HERE. This term, we have some exciting new offerings, including the Wild Explorers ECA and Clay Creators Club, alongside some of our beloved favourites like Funky Fingers, Explore and Draw, Construction Club, and Chinese Club.
Additionally, Asia Adventure Sports will be running a Gymnastics Club on Fridays. For more details, please click HERE to visit their website.
Enrichment Week
This week marks the launch of our Enrichment Week. We kicked off the festivities today with a focus on drama. Our students enjoyed a wonderful performance from Dovetales, a talented theatre company that presented three short plays based on Aesop's Fables.
In the afternoon, our children had the opportunity to take the stage themselves as Ms. Vevers, our Drama teacher from the Primary Campus, led engaging drama workshops for all year groups. The smiles and laughter from the children were truly heartwarming.
Tomorrow, we look forward to welcoming Animals Adventures, and taking part in Music Workshops, led by our Primary Music teacher, Ms Martin. The staff are also looking forward to their own enrichment activity after school, as Ms Mertz and Ms Lewsey lead the first staff training in Forest School/OutdoorLearning – all staff will be heading to Lion’s Nature Park for the first session.
We can’t wait for our class trips on Wednesday and then we will finish off the week with our Picnic on the Grass Showcase on Thursday morning. If you are planning on joining us, please bring a picnic blanket and a small, simple picnic to enjoy!
Looking Ahead - World Earth Day 22nd April
World Earth Day, celebrated on April 22, is an annual event dedicated to raising awareness about environmental protection and promoting sustainable practices. It serves as a reminder of our responsibility to care for our planet.
In our school, we will be promoting World Earth Day by encouraging all families to pack a 'plastic-free' snack and lunch on this day. Throughout the week, students will participate in various activities focused on how we can care for our beautiful world, with a special emphasis on the environment right in our own community. Together, let's inspire our children to be mindful stewards of the Earth.
We look forward to an exciting Enrichment Week ahead filled with learning and lots of fun. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community.
Yours sincerely,
Ruth Hanson
