Early Years Campus Weekly Update

Early Years Campus Weekly Update - Early Years Campus Weekly Update

Dear Parents,

As we wrap up another exciting week in school, we wanted to share some highlights and updates that showcase the wonderful learning experiences our children are engaging in.

Exploring "Old Bear"

This week, our Year 1 students have continued their exploration of the enchanting story "Old Bear." The children have been involved in roleplaying various scenes from the narrative, which has allowed them to embody the characters and immerse themselves in the text.

One of the standout activities has been creating freeze frames, where students posed in frozen scenes to visually retell the story. Through their roleplay and freeze frames, the children have been able to imagine themselves within the story as they prepare to write their diary entries this week from the perspective of one of the characters.

The Benefits of Drama in Literacy

Incorporating drama into our Literacy activities has great benefits. Roleplaying helps children develop empathy as they step into the shoes of different characters, fostering a deeper connection and understanding of the story. This practise not only enhances their comprehension but also builds their vocabulary and storytelling skills.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

We are excited to remind you that our Parent-Teacher Conferences are taking place today and on Wednesday. This is a wonderful opportunity for you to discuss your child's progress and development as we approach the final term of the year. We encourage you to share any observations or questions you may have, as your insights are invaluable in supporting your child's learning journey.

Summer ECA Program

Looking ahead, we will be sharing details about our Extra-Curricular Activities (ECA) program for next term later this week. Keep an eye out for this email, as we have some exciting opportunities planned for your children to explore their interests and talents outside the classroom.

Enrichment Week Excitement

Next week marks our highly anticipated Enrichment Week! We have a fantastic lineup of activities, including theatre visits, engaging drama and music sessions, and explorations into the fascinating world of animals. We are particularly looking forward to our Picnic Showcase, where we will celebrate the talents of our students. Last year was our inaugural mini festival, and it was a resounding success. We hope you can join us for this special event to cheer on our young performers!

Thank you for your continued support and involvement. We look forward to another wonderful week ahead!

Warm regards,

Ruth Hanson
