Tom Prescott graduated from Liverpool Hope University with a BA Honours in Primary Teaching with Sports Studies. As part of his university course, Tom received Master’s Credits in Education.

Tom began teaching in Southport, near Liverpool where he taught Year 5. He then moved to London where he taught for 5 years in an outstanding school, teaching Years 2, 4 and 6. Over this time there, Tom became a middle leader for both the lower and upper juniors, taking on additional responsibilities whilst working with the senior leadership team.

Tom also brought his passion for sport to his school by becoming the PE lead teacher for 3 consecutive years, promoting an active, healthy lifestyle for all children, as well as continually supporting teachers in teaching high quality PE lessons.

Tom is delighted to be teaching at DCIS. He believes that every lesson is an opportunity to develop and grow, both as educators and as learners, and enjoys personalising learning for the children in his class. Having previously lead Year 5, he is now excited to be leading Year 6 this year.

Away from the classroom, Tom can be found on a cricket field or a tennis court. Tom is a Level 2 qualified cricket coach and has coached children aged 7-11 for several years.
