Jillian graduated from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland with B.Ed (Hons) in Primary Education in 2005, and from Glasgow University, Scotland with PGCE in Primary Physical Education in 2012.
After graduation, Jillian taught in Scotland from 2005 - 2021, teaching from early years to upper primary school, ages 4-12. She taught in both mainstream and non-mainstream settings, gaining many valuable experiences and developing her skill set. Since 2001 she has been teaching in Singapore.
Jillian’s commitment to lifelong learning enables her to create engaging, relevant learning experiences that are challenging and responsive to the individual needs of the pupils in her care. She aspires to create a learning environment where her students are actively engaged in their learning and can apply critical thinking skills. Jillian encourages the development of effective communication and reflection to empower her students to take risks and become successful learners and responsible global citizens.
In her spare time, she enjoys keeping fit and healthy by participating in a range of fitness classes. Jillian likes to explore new places and expand her knowledge of different cultures. She is thrilled to be joining the team at Dover Court and continuing her learning journey in Singapore.
