Katie is an experienced international teacher with a Master’s degree in Education. She was awarded her Primary PGCE whilst at the University of Gloucestershire, after having completed her Bachelor of Science Degree in Sports Education and Psychology.
Catriona (Katie) began her Primary teaching career in a beautiful rural school in Devon where she led ICT. She then relocated to Discovery Bay International School, Hong Kong. During her eight years there, she developed her Primary teaching skills as a Key Stage 2 teacher by integrating technology across the curriculum. Her specialist skills were utilised through her role as a Primary ICT teacher and technology coach. She created a dynamic computing curriculum at the same time as teaching others how to use technology creatively and responsibly to enhance children’s learning across subjects. As an experienced leader of Internationalism within education, she is also excited to work with our children, parents, carers and the wider community to ensure our children maximise their learning opportunities by building relationships to become global citizens. She has a strong belief that confident, nurtured children will grow and learn to exceed expectations - we just need to help them get there!
Katie is a keen sportswoman. It was coaching football in America in her youth that inspired her to travel and teach. Katie brings her sporting enthusiasm to Dover Court, having had experience of leading Primary FOBISIA sports teams across South East Asia. Katie shares her passions for travel and sports with her husband and their two daughters.
