2025 Sixth Form Applications are now open
The Drama Department is incredibly proud of our IB students for their outstanding performances of Girls Like That by Evan Placey. This challenging and thought-provoking play explores gender inequality, societal pressures, and the impact of social media, but at its heart is a powerful message about the importance of girls supporting one another rather than tearing each other down.
The performance was also a fantastic opportunity for the students to share their work with Year 10 and 11 students as part of the PSHE (Personal, Social, Health & Economics) curriculum. It provided a meaningful platform to spark discussion around these important themes and encouraged reflection on the role of empathy and solidarity in navigating modern challenges.
The students embraced the innovative style of the play, which features no set characters and continuous narration, showcasing exceptional creativity and collaboration. Their interpretation of the text demonstrated a deep understanding of its emotional depth and social commentary, delivered with bold stylistic choices and compelling stagecraft.
This production was a testament to the resilience, passion, and talent of our students. It was a privilege to guide them through this ambitious project, and their hard work has left a lasting impression on all who watched.
