Dover Court End of Term 1 2024-2025 Principal Message - Dover Court End of Term 1 2024-2025 Principal Message

Dear Dover Court Community,

As we reach the close of an incredible Term 1, I am filled with pride reflecting on all that we have achieved together since August. This term has been an extraordinary journey of growth, discovery and community, and I am delighted to celebrate some highlights with you in this final newsletter of 2024.

First and foremost, our students have continued to demonstrate a love for learning that is truly inspiring. From the youngest learners in our Early Years classrooms exploring through play and inquiry, to our senior students excelling in their examination courses, the commitment to excellence has been evident at every stage.

As ever, our school has been buzzing with activity beyond the classroom. Residential expeditions in Singapore and beyond continue to provide life-changing experiences for our students, fostering independence, resilience, and a deep appreciation for the world around them. In Singapore, visits to exhibitions, theatres and cultural landmarks allowed our students to engage deeply with our host country’s rich heritage.

In the sports arenas, our teams have shone brightly through FOBISIA Games and ACSIS competition. I am particularly proud of the team spirit and sporting behaviour displayed by our students, epitomising the values of teamwork and respect that we hold dear.

The arts have truly flourished this term, with our students dazzling audiences through drama productions, musical performances, and visual arts showcases. These events were a testament to the creativity and talent that thrives within our school.

As a community, we also took important strides in making a difference beyond our campus. Our social impact initiatives this term, from sustainability drives to fundraising for local and international charities, reflected our commitment to nurturing compassionate global citizens. I am particularly proud of the student-led projects, which continue to demonstrate the empathy and leadership of our young people.

None of these achievements would be possible without the steadfast support of our community. To our parents, thank you for entrusting us with your children and for your active engagement in school life. Whether cheering on the sidelines, attending performances, or lending a hand at events, your involvement enriches our community immensely.

To the Dover Court Association (DCA), with the phenomenal new Executive Committee firmly at the helm, your tireless work has been instrumental in strengthening the bonds between parents, staff, and students. From organising parent and community events to supporting school projects, your contributions enhance every aspect of what we do.

Finally, my heartfelt thanks go to our incredible staff. Their dedication, passion and care for every student make Dover Court the vibrant, inclusive and thriving school that it is. As we look ahead to 2025, I am excited for all that is to come.

Wishing you and your families a joyful holiday season and a restful break.

Warm regards,

Richard Dyer
