The Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards highlights and celebrates the academic excellence of students taking Pearson Edexcel GCSE and IGCSE examinations from the previous academic year. The ceremony brings together international schools from across Singapore to recognise and celebrate the achievements of students who have demonstrated outstanding academic performance.
This year, seven of our students achieved the highest marks in Singapore, Asia, and the world, receiving the Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards. Additionally, 38 students were awarded Pearson Excellence Awards for achieving grades 7 and above in at least five different subjects, showcasing their dedication and hard work.
Rachel Edwards, Head of Secondary at Dover Court International School, expressed, “We were delighted to host the Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards (OPLA) this year to celebrate the fantastic academic achievements of students across Singapore in Pearson qualifications. We recognised and celebrated our own remarkable student achievements with families. This academic excellence cannot be underestimated; it is the culmination of commitment to learning and sheer hard work. Year 13 student Lucy, a recipient of an award last year, delivered a compelling speech at the ceremony, urging all students to be the change that communities need. Lucy attended the Nord Anglia UNICEF Summit this year in the US and has brought this message back to school. Our thanks go to our student MCs, Abraham and Nathalie, as well as to Yi Wei Ng for her mesmerising harp performance. As our Year 11 students and our team plot the way forward to their final examinations, there is everything to strive for! Congratulations to all our Dover Court winners this year.”
As Dover Court International School, we proudly hosted this year's ceremony, during which our students participated as MCs, ushers, and performers, contributing to the prestigious event. The ceremony featured beautiful musical performances by our talented Year 12 students, Yi Wei and Evelyn. Lucy, our Year 13 student and former Outstanding Pearson Learner Awards recipient, also delivered a heartfelt speech that inspired everyone with her reflections on hard work and change.
Carla Hyland, Dover Court International School Deputy Head of Secondary, stated, " We couldn’t be prouder of our students for their incredible IGCSE results! As a non-selective school, these achievements highlight the power of hard work, determination, and a positive mindset. Congratulations to each of you—your hard work has truly paid off, and this is just the beginning of what you can achieve!”
We congratulate all the students for their remarkable accomplishments and express our gratitude to the teachers whose hard work and dedication have supported our learners in reaching such impressive results. As we celebrate these achievements, we look forward to even greater successes in the future.
