We’re thrilled to announce the exceptional achievements of Dover Court International School students in the I/GCSE examinations. This year, our largest cohort to date has demonstrated outstanding results, a testament to the diverse and inclusive environment that fosters their unique talents and abilities. Each student's success is a significant milestone in Dover Court’s journey.
As an inclusive school, we pride ourselves on our ability to support all students across our broad academic pathways. Excellence, as we say, looks different for everyone, and this year's results are a testament to that belief. Each student's journey has been unique, and these results celebrate the hard work, dedication, and perseverance our students have shown throughout their studies.
Richard Dyer, Dover Court Principal, said: “As IGCSE and GCSE results around the world readjusted to pre-COVID levels for the first time, I was slightly more nervous than usual on results day. I should not have worried. Our students rose to the challenge of the first significant external examination series of their lives and made us all proud. However, you cut the statistics, and these are exceptionally good results. Seeing the joyous faces last Thursday was a delight. Success breeds success, and now our Year 12 students can focus on their Sixth Form courses with renewed confidence. Gratitude is due, of course, to our amazing staff for their belief and their pedagogical skill and to parents for supporting their children throughout. Well done, everyone!”
The overall results are impressive, with 42% of all grades awarded at Levels 9-7 (equivalent to A*/A in the old grading system). We are particularly proud of the notable successes in our European Language IGCSE programmes, IGCSE Geography, and GCSE Drama. These areas have demonstrated exceptional value-added progress, reflecting the considerable excellence our students have achieved.
Carla Hyland, Deputy Head of Secondary, shared: “I’m immensely proud of our students' outstanding GCSE results. These achievements are a testament to the unwavering commitment, integrity, and relentless pursuit of excellence our students and teachers have consistently demonstrated. Whilst achieving top grades is wonderful, it’s not just about the numbers but the values that underpin their success: integrity, perseverance and resilience in the face of challenges. These results reflect the culmination of hard work and dedication, embodying the core values we strive to instil in our students. Congratulations to all the students on their remarkable achievements; your future holds great promise!”
Every student's achievement reflects the strong relationships, expert teaching, and comprehensive well-being support that are the cornerstones of Dover Court’s mission. We are committed to ensuring that every student is supported and encouraged to achieve their very best. Our success is built on this foundation, and we are incredibly proud of our students' accomplishments.
Congratulations to the 2024 I/GCSE cohort! Your hard work has paid off, and it’s now time to celebrate these well-deserved achievements. We look forward to seeing where your journey takes you next.
