Dover Court’s fifth graduation ceremony, in its 50 years of providing outstanding education to international families in Singapore, was particularly momentous. It came on the heels of a year of activities commemorating the school’s golden anniversary. It saw our largest cohort of IB, BTEC and Pathway 3 students cross the stage to receive their certificates. And it was our first in-person celebration since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.
This year's graduating cohort is an amazing group of fantastic young people, their dedication and perseverance have been truly impressive, during times that have not always been easy. As a school community, we couldn't be prouder of them for being such wonderful role models for our younger students, and always displaying the core values of Dover Court.
“They have endured the most significant challenges to the continuity of their education of any graduating class in our school’s 51 years. Members of this Class of ‘23 have emerged resilient, determined and optimistic,” DCIS Principal, Richard Dyer said.
Dominic O’Shea, Head of Sixth Form continued: “The Class of 2023 embodies so many of the Doverian values that will help them be successful in their futures: creativity, diversity, excellence, resilience, inclusion and kindness. We have been fortunate to watch this cohort flourish and mature into young people that we know will go on to do great things.”
Held in the historic National Gallery, this wonderful celebration of our students’ accomplishments included remarks from Deputy High Commissioner, Alex Bamford, of the UK High Commission, musical performances from our talented students, and a student-made video highlighting the many wonderful moments and memories they have shared during their time at Dover Court. Following the ceremony, families gathered in the atrium for photos, parting gifts, and congratulatory hugs from friends, family and teachers.
As they embark on their next chapter, we wish them the best of luck and we can't wait to follow their future endeavours! Check out the graduation video below:
