Globally Recognised curricula

We offer three distinct yet fluid pathways at Dover Court, which provide tiered levels of support, challenge, and personalisation. While students on each pathway follow globally recognised British and international curricula, key concepts are contextualised and adapted in different ways. In addition to IGCSE and IBDP, students can also choose to study career-focused BTEC or ASDAN qualifications, providing more paths to success for our diverse students.

As well as enabling each child to achieve the highest possible academic outcomes, our curricula balance wellbeing, personal development, and enriching experiences beyond the classroom.

Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS)
Our innovative early years curriculum is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach, which encourages our youngest learners to explore their interests, be curious, and engage with the world around them. Cared for by our highly experienced early years specialists, your child will work towards the seven key EYFS areas of learning and development, as well as enjoying formative introductions to PE, languages, and music.

Closely aligned to our mainstream Pathway 1 curriculum, our Pathway 2 programme is designed for students who will benefit from a modified academic approach with extra learning support. Students discover, create, and learn in small classes of 8-10, taught by a teacher and teaching assistant. Our Pathway 2 classes are twinned with Pathway 1 groups, too, which enables students to connect, collaborate, and enjoy experiences across the curriculum.

DISCOVERING TALENTS, IGNITING PASSIONS

Our commitment to inclusivity extends to our thriving co-curricular programme, which offers more than 250 clubs and activities. This gives your child every opportunity to learn new skills and pursue their passions.
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

Drama
Our students enjoy a world-class performing arts experience through our exclusive collaboration with The Juilliard School. In our ultra-modern Expressive Arts Centre, aspiring actors and performers learn from specialist instructors and artists in purpose-built spaces. Our ‘junior actors’, ‘drama for young thespians’, and ‘centre stage’ clubs explore acting techniques and approaches, while our Alice in Wonderland production brings students together to put on a spectacular show.

STEAM
Innovation abounds on our co-curricular STEAM programme, which is enhanced by our collaboration with MIT. Each activity provides a unique opportunity to deepen our students’ understanding of key concepts – and spark curiosity. At our ‘solving global issues using tech’ club, students use their programming skills to create energy saving smart devices for homes. Truly unique activities, like our Lego masters, digital escape room, robotics, and ‘how to build a city’ clubs, encourage our students to think critically, creatively, and solve problems.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award
The world’s leading youth achievement programme gives older students the opportunity to set their own goals and challenges, take part in activities they know and enjoy, and try something different. They also get involved in community service projects that make a big difference. As they progress through the programme your child will develop resilience, learn more about themselves, and grow in confidence.

Sport and PE
Our students love to get moving. Every child has access to sport in and beyond the curriculum, which boosts their physical and mental health, develops transferable skills, and brings friends together. Our clubs offer something for everyone, from badminton, basketball, and tennis to yoga, Futsal, and judo. Students excel on the pitch and court representing Dover Court with pride as part of our DCIS Wolves teams.

Creative arts
A broad spectrum of opportunities gives every child the space, medium, and time to express themselves creatively. Our younger students use Lego, clay, and plasticine to create stop-motion animations, try their hand at traditional Chinese painting, and learn about illustration at our Manga art club. At secondary, older students create multi-sensory pieces, discover the ancient art of Kirigami, and make sure nothing goes to waste at our junk modelling club. There’s lots of fun to be had at board game, jewellery making, and storytelling clubs, too!

Music
At Dover Court, your child can join an orchestra, band, or choir, or enjoy the challenge of learning an instrument. They’ll learn from the very best teachers, who will help them to become virtuoso piano, violin, or flute instrumentalists. Talented musicians shine on stage at productions and concerts, while our co-curricular clubs welcome musicians of all abilities. These include our ‘showtime singers’ acapella club and ‘music around the world’ programme, which explores global sounds and much more.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQS)

  • How long does the admissions process take?
The length of the admissions process varies. It’s personalised to your child, so factors like their age, learning support needs, and assessment type all play a part. The time it takes to get the Confidential Student Reference form from your child’s current school can also have an impact.
  • How long is your waiting list?

We’re currently at capacity, with waiting lists for most age groups. Singapore, however, is a relatively transient place, with families coming and going throughout the year. As the school receives withdrawals, places are offered to children on the waiting list (in order of application).

Dover Court has three withdrawal deadlines each year, one per term. You can find these in our calendar. Once we’ve had a withdrawal, we’ll contact the next family on the waitlist to immediately offer them a place.

If we’re unable to offer your child a place for their preferred start date, your application will roll over to the next term (or until a suitable space becomes available).

  • Is the admissions process different if my company pays the fees?
If your company is paying your child’s fees, our admissions and finance teams are happy to deal with them directly. Please let us know as early as possible in the process.
  • Is the application fee refundable?
Once paid, the application fee is non-refundable.
  • What methods of payment do you accept?

    Payments can be made by:

    1. Electronic bank transfer in Singapore Dollars (SGD) to the DCIS bank account:

Account Name: Dover Court International School (Pte) Ltd

    Bank Name: HSBC (Corporate)

    Account Number (SGD): 052188893001

    Swift Code: HSBCSGSGXXXX

The remitter is responsible for all bank and foreign exchange charges. Any transfer fees or charges that are eventually deducted from the amount received by the school will remain on your account for collection.

Please provide a copy of the bank remittance and the student’s name to the Finance Office

(finance@dovercourt.edu.sg) as proof of payment. To help us identify your payment, please list the invoice number and/or your child’s name (stated on your invoice) in the reference details at the time of your transfer.

When fee payment is undertaken by a company on behalf of a student’s parents/guardians, a company representative will be asked to provide a DCIS Letter of Guaranteewhen the student is enrolled at DCIS.

    2. Monthly GIRO Payment

Monthly GIRO payment is offered at no extra charge to all parents who pay fees privately. A Frequently Asked Questions document gives full details of the arrangement and accompanies this letter and is also available on the Parent Portal.

The following points are important to note:

    • Existing GIRO arrangements will continue and no new form needs to be submitted
    • Completed original GIRO forms must be submitted to the Finance Department, electronic copies will not be accepted.
    • A separate GIRO form must be completed for each student at Dover Court.
    • As the GIRO takes several weeks to process GIRO forms must be returned as soon as possible to allow sufficient processing time
    • There are 9 payment deductions annually, with the final payment of the academic year taking place on 1st April.
    • Requests for GIRO payments should be sent by email to: finance@dovercourt.edu.sg

    3. Paynow: UEN No 197100313E
