Dear CDS Families,
We are extremely busy here on campus with events and activities that are highlighting the amazing things that our students are taking part in. Just today, our elementary PE swimming classes, led by Ms. Caterina Tretti, had an end of program swim meet that provided an amazing culminating experience for her students in their last swimming class of the year. Congratulations to all who participated! We also have seen our grade 5 students debating current issues and our high school MUN group has been participating in an international Model United Nations Conference in Medellin, Colombia! With all this activity happening this week, we cannot forget that we have our PA Golf Tournament happening tomorrow and we are hosting our first ever CDS track meet at the Hatillo Track and Field facility. We hope to see as many of you as possible this weekend!
As the year rolls on at an incredible pace, I have met with several families who have shared thoughts, concerns, and ideas about how we can better our school in a variety of ways. Parent feedback is our best way to better understand how our educational offer works for families and we greatly appreciate the time that families take to share their experiences with us. Different topics that have been discussed include our educational offering in the secondary school regarding academic excellence and rigor, our Advanced Placement offerings, our primary school swimming program, and our school’s work around diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice. Out of all the conversations we have had, it is evident that, as a school, we need to enhance our communication with families. There are things we are doing or working on that need to be shared with families. Most of this information will be shared here in our newsletters each week. Please be sure to check in and see all the things we are doing to ensure that our students have the best educational experience possible.
We wish you a wonderful weekend ahead.
Best,
