EOY Events

Holiday Concerts

Holiday concerts are around the corner! Please see below for information about student attire.

  • PreK: Various (more info will be shared by class)

  • Kinder: Rock and Roll

  • Prep: All white

  • First Grade: Party clothes (sequins encouraged)

  • Second – Fifth grade: Holiday festive clothes

  • Fifth – White top and black bottoms or all black with dark shoes (avoid jeans, sneakers, and sandals)

Holiday Gift Parade

Our yearly Gift Parade is around the corner. On December 16th Santa will visit campus and students will join our tradition of giving back to the community by bringing a wrapped gift as a present to Santa.  Students should bring a wrapped gift to their classroom by December 16th and include a sticky note detailing if it’s appropriate for a boy or girl and the age range.

Swimming
  • Swimming for EC-1st grade will end next week.

  • 2nd-5th grade will start their swimming unit the week of January 16th.

  • According to the World Health Organization, water temperatures ranging from 78 to 86 degrees Fahrenheit are generally comfortable and safe for those engaging in moderate physical activity in a pool. Although the CDS pool temperature may fall within this range, in the morning when the air and water temperature are cooler, our younger students have expressed discomfort in the water. It’s our priority to create a positive swimming experience, especially for our younger students so during these mornings, students will participate in an alternative PE class. Please keep in mind that students will participate in swimming units twice a year so they will have other opportunities to engage in swimming.

A few reminders from your CDS Library Team:

With the winter holidays approaching, and extended time away from school, your CDS Library would like to invite you to check-out extra books to keep you reading over break! We are happy to help you look for good books or give you suggestions on some of our favorite new arrivals.

  • December 12-16: Students from Prep to 12th can check-out to 5 books to take home for vacation
  • December 12-16: ALL Parent/Family Book Check-Out Days. We would love to invite families to come to the library and take pre-arranged book packs that we’ve curated just for you, or you may look around for your own selection.

Come on in. No appointment is necessary. The CDS Library is open from 8:00am-3:00pm (closes at noon on Friday, Dec. 16).

Come and get some great holiday reading!
