PANTHER EXPERIENCE OPEN HOUSE
Mrs. Ariel Weissburg
Primary Principal
Dear Families,
We wrapped up this week by gathering as a Primary school, along with families, to cheer on two of our elementary school soccer teams! Students even took the initiative to create signs and cheers to support their classmates.
October will be an exciting month of events in Primary! Please review the information about UN Day and Halloween Family Night. I encourage you to contact your class rep or email the house secretary if you have questions about any of our events. We are so excited to collaborate with families to make our events special for students and families!
Looking forward to seeing you in the month to come!
Please refer to the whole school update for information about our Halloween Family Night and UN Day.
Classroom newsletters will go home on Friday, October 7.
Parent-teacher conferences are on October 26. Our scheduling process will begin in mid-October.
CDS students in Grades 1-8 will take the Fall MAP Assessment beginning on October 4. This standardized assessment will assess students’ literacy and math skills and is given twice per year. Please refer to the schedule below and note that there is a change for 2nd-grade testing in order to accommodate UN Day on October 13.
Students in grades 1-5 will use school-issued devices for the MAP assessment (Ipads or Chromebooks). If a student is absent during a scheduled MAP testing session he/she will be able to make-up the test on another date.
Questions about MAP testing? Please contact Liz Cotter, Director of Teaching and Learning: elizabeth.cotter@cds.ed.cr
Thank you!
